Vintage Wallace Boots and Saddle 7.25" Salad Plates

Vintage Wallace Boots and Saddle 7.25" Salad Plates

$36.00

These are the 7.25” salad plates from the Boots and Saddle line of Westward Ho pieces made by Wallace China in Los Angelos, California and designed by western artist, Till Goodan.

Wallace China used different backstamps over the years, but if a piece has a Wallace backstamp, it is indeed vintage. Wallace China backstamps won't be found after 1964, when its parent company, Shenango liquidated the company. The original Wallace Westward Ho pieces are not to be confused with the new True West remakes which will have a True West backstamp. Long story short, the original Westward Ho lines by Wallace China were produced from the 40’s up until the early 60’s.

Wallace China can be found with multiple backstamps, this set features both the traditional grey backstamp and the teal blue backstamp. We will give you the option to choose between specific backstamps. We have two plates with teal stamps and 5 plates with grey backstamps. The teal blue stamped pieces are also a darker tan. The two teal blue back stamps plates have the date codes “A-8” and “A-9” meaning these exact plates were made in July and November of 1959 respectively according to Wallace’s production records. Four of the grey stamped plates we have, are date coded “9-K” and were produced in November of 1941 and we have one plate stamped “3-O” produced in April of 1945.

These salad plates measure 7.25” in diameter and they are all in pristine condition! No major damages, chips or cracks found.

***Please note, on top of being highly valuable and collectable, these are heavy and fragile pieces. Shipping may look steep but that is to ensure this piece arrives to you safe and sound.
