Vintage Wallace Boots and Saddles S&P Shakers

Vintage Wallace Boots and Saddles S&P Shakers

$92.00

These Salt and Pepper Shakers from the Boots and Saddle line of Westward Ho pieces made by Wallace China in Los Angelos, California and designed by western artist, Till Goodan.

Wallace China used different backstamps over the years, but if a piece has a Wallace backstamp, it is indeed vintage. Wallace China backstamps won't be found after 1964, when its parent company, Shenango liquidated the company. The original Wallace Westward Ho pieces are not to be confused with the new True West remakes which will have a True West backstamp. Long story short, the original Westward Ho lines by Wallace China were produced from the 40’s up until the early 60’s.

Wallace China can be found with multiple backstamps, this set we currently have feature both the traditional grey backstamp and the teal blue backstamp. However, as is very commonly found, there is no stamp or brand marking of any kind on these salt and pepper shakers. The way to tell the difference between an original set of Westward Ho shakers and the remakes is to look at the ring on the bottom of the shakers were they sit. If glazed and white, they are the new True West remakes. If tan and “raw”, or unglazed, then the set is an original 40’s to 60’s Wallace set. Which is what we believe these are. We also have it on good authority from the previous owner, who purchased the pieces herself in the 50’s.

These shakers measure roughly 5” tall and are all in pristine condition! No damages, chips or cracks. One has a stopper that was taped into place a long time ago to keep it from falling out.

***Please note, on top of being highly valuable and collectable, these are heavy and fragile pieces. Shipping may look steep but that is to ensure this piece arrives to you safe and sound.
